Apartment owners can list their property for free and we only add a commission on top of their bookings. Guests have a choice of thousands of apartments in over 250 destinations and are able to book online with secure payments.

Job overview
To continue our rapid growth we are recruiting a qualified in-house Senior Corporate Counsel to deal with a wide range of contractual, structural and tax issues. This is a varied role supporting an extremely fast growth venture-capital backed internet  business with a global reach (suppliers, customers, partners). The purpose of the role is to support the management team with all legal issues to proper protection of the company’s interests and compliance / good governance.

Responsibilities 
• Draft and review contracts with suppliers and strategic partners and support management through contract negotiation decisions
• Advise management and board on contractual rights and obligations
• Review (and update if required) employee contracts based on current legislation
• Maintain and update the terms and conditions on the website to be consistent with business decisions taken and to comply with relevant legislation
• Liaise with external lawyers in various specialist fields as required
• To be involved with VAT, Corporation tax issues.
• Manage the protection of the intellectual property of the brand
• Provide legal advice across all areas of the company and educate decision makers in
issues that require legal consideration
• Maintain a live “data room” with all company contracts and NDAs
• Handle any disputes or claims made against the company
• Notify management ahead of each contract renewal point for a decision on whether to continue
• Continued professional development and familiarity with all relevant issues concerning the industry sector and the territories in which we operate

The ideal candidate will have experience in 

• Working in the online / ecommerce / internet sector (required)
• Dealing with a variety of European wide legal issues and different regulatory environments
• Expertise with intellectual property issues
• Commercial experience
• Managing closely the time and cost of external lawyers and advisors
• Experience at both a law firm and in-house is preferred
• Experience working on corporate finance and private equity deals
• Significant experience managing multiple, complex, strategic, specialty law projects, issues, and transactions

Required skills / education 

• Advanced university degree in law
• Qualified lawyer, ideally specialising in contract law
• Another European language desirable particularly French.
• Ability to work in a dynamic fast growth environment
• Flexible approach but with a desire to meet targets and objectives
• Highly motivated, hardworking, proactive and innovative
• Good communication and teamwork skills
